At the Miners’ Welfare, Denaby Main, last night, Kid Curley (Sheffield) drew over ten rounds with Ellis Ashurst (Denaby), the decision having a mixed reception.
In another ten rounds bout, H. Sharples (Denaby) beat Jim Pearson (Carbrook) on points.
In the supporting contests over six rounds, Pete Birkes (Denaby) beat T. Kelly (Conisborough) on points, Alf. Kelly (Conisborough) beat Sam Moberley (Denaby) on points, and C. Swift (Conisborough) beat R. Simpson (Leeds) on points.
