Boy Drowned at Denaby Main

On Wednesday afternoon, a lad, named John Lunn, aged 13 years, son of David Lunn, of 45, Clifton street, New Conisbro’, was drowned in the river Don, at Denaby Main.

The deceased, with another lad, was fishing, and in walking round one of the pillars of a bridge he overbalanced and fell in.

The lad (Parker) who was with him raised an alarm, and Police-constables Jarvis, Richardson, and Waller hurried to the spot, and ultimately recovered the body.
