Breach Colliery Rules.

John Mannion, aged 14 years, pony driver, was fined 20s., including costs, for having committed a breach of special rule 66, at the Denaby Main Colliery, by neglecting to fix a back stay drag behind a train of corves going up underground incline, on the 1st inst.

Mr. Hickmott prosecuted.

Through the defendant’s negligence a youth named Cane, and also a pony, had a narrow escape of being killed.

Cane escaped with serious cuts on his wrist, which had prevented him from following his employment since.
