Breach of Colliery Rules
George Ellis, engineman, Denaby Main, was charged with a breach of the Special Rule relating to the management of engines in mines, at Denaby Main, on July 13th.
Mr. Hickmott, who prosecuted, said the rule required that the person in charge of any engine connected with a colliery should diligently and carefully attend to it. On the day in question the defendant had charge of two engines at the pit bottom at Denaby Colliery, and he left his post to attend to the work of another man.
Defendant pleaded guilty and expressed regret, and a fine of 1s. and costs was imposed.
