Breach of Colliery Rules
Jesse Marriott, aged 16, of the Barracks, Mexborough and Frank Silverwood, aged 14, of 11 Melton View, Denaby, were each charged with having violated special rule 90 at the Denaby Main Colliery, on February 15 by riding on an underground road without permission.
Jonathan Rogers, deputy, stated that he saw the defendants riding on an underground road. When Silverwood saw him, he jumped out and went to hide himself in a manhole.
Defendants were each fined 10s, including costs
