Breach of Colliery Rules at Denaby.
At the Rotherham West Riding Police Court, today, John Lawley, “jennier,” of Denaby, was fined 20s. and costs, for having infringed Special Rule 4, ,at the Denaby Main Colliery, doing an act likely endanger the safety the persons employed.
Defendant had allowed tubs to descend an incline without it being properly “lockered.”
The result of defendant’s negligence was that the tubs dashed down the road, and into door, doing considerable damage.
Mr. Hickmott prosecuted.
