Breach of the Vaccination Act

September 1896

Breach of the Vaccination Act

Samuel Eliot, miner, Conisborough, was summoned for a breach of the vaccination act.

Mr Downes, the officer, of Balby, gave evidence to the effect that the vaccination of the defendant’s child had not taken place.

The defendant said he had conscientious objections to the act, and he should postpone compliance as long as he could, in the interest of his child’s health.

Order to pay the costs and to have the child vaccinated within a month.
