Breaches of Colliery Rules

At Doncaster West Riding Police Court on Saturday, Mr. W. M. Gichard, representing the Denaby and Cadeby Main Collieries Company (Limited), appeared to prosecute seven of the company’s employes for breaches of colliery rules, as follows:—George Thomas, dataller (rule 90); John Fleming, collier (101); Samuel Woodward, Arthur Adams, Henry Morton, and Percy Daniels, pony drivers, all of Denaby; and Thomas M. Cain, pony driver, Mexboro’ (66).

Mr. Gichard pointed out how necessary it was for the safety of the men that the colliery rules should be observed.

The first defendant was fined 20s., including costs; the second 20s. and costs; the last-named 20s., and the others 5s. and costs.
