Breaches Of Colliery Rules At Denaby
Thomas Cooper, miner at the Denaby and Cadeby Main Collieries Co. pit, was summoned for a breach of Rule 99, by taking matches down the pit.
Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined 20s., inclusive.
Fred Hinchcliff, trammer, was charged with a breach of Rule 91, by being in front of a train of corves instead of behind.
Mr. W. M. Gichard, who appeared on behalf of the Colliery Company, stated that at 8-30 in the morning on the 5th July, the under-manager at the colliery, Mr. Brierley, saw the defendant stood in front of a train of corves on a decline of one in ten. They might have started off and severely injured defendant, besides other persons. Defendant had been previously warned about this practice.

Defendant was fined 25s., inclusive
