Brutal Wife Assault at Denaby.
A Denaby miner named David Cuncliffe was Doncaster yesterday sentenced to three monthe’ imprisonment for assaulting his wife, Sarah Jane Cuncliffe.
Prisoner, who was on Monday charged with committing grievously bodily harm for the same offence, pleaded not guilty.
Mrs. Cuncliffe said whilst she was getting tea ready on Sunday her husband caught her by the throat and, held her for a few minutes, and she fainted.
A neighbour saw Mrs. Cuncliffe in fainting condition with her throat bleeding, and sent for a doctor.
Prisoner told the magistrates that his wife had been drinking all day on Sunday.
