Brutal Wife Assault at Denaby.
To-day at Doncaster, Fred Watson, collier, New Conisborough, was charged with unlawfully wounding his wife on Tuesday.
Complainant left home and he followed her, and asked her to return with him, but she refused, and he knocked her down, and kicked her in the left side the face, causing a wound two and half inches deep, and breaking the jaw bone.
The wife was called as a witness, but gave her evidence reluctantly.
The charge was reduced to common assault, and prisoner was committed to prison for one month.
