Burglary

A rather unusual occurrence took place in this hamlet on Sunday evening last. It appears that Mrs. Hobson had gone as usual to church, and on returning to her residence in High Street, she was astonished to find that the front door, which she had locked, had been broken open and an entrance thereby effected by some evil-disposed person or persons.

On examination of her house, she discovered that a number of valuable articles of jewellery were missing, the exact amount of which she is unable to state. Information as to the local police officers, who are on the qui vive for the burglars. Up to the time of our going to press no intelligence was received of their capture.
