Burglary at Denaby Main

Early yesterday morning the beer department of the Denaby Main Co-operative Society was entered by thieves. The manager retired about 11.30 the previous night, locked all up, and placed his takings in the safe, with the exception of about 30s. in coppers.

When he rose yesterday morning he was astonished to find that the front window had been broken and that an entrance had been effected. The inner window had been treated similarly. All the drawers had been forced open by means of a small crowbar or similar instrument, and thrown about the floor.

The coppers were gone, and the thieves also took a box of cigars and eight or ten bottles of beer. The matter is in the hands of the police.
