1898

Sheffield Independent – Tuesday 12 July 1898

Cadeby, Conisbro’, And Denaby.

Local inquiries as the following proposals have been held: —

(1) A proposal by the Conisbrough Parish County Council for constituting the townships of Cadeby Conisbro’, and Denaby, or such portions thereof may deemed equitable, an urban district and for the division of such urban district, if so constituted, into wards;

(2) a proposal by the Denaby Parish Council for constituting parts of the townships of Conisbro’, and Denaby an urban district.

The Committee of inquiry have reported the General Purposes Committee that they have in principle approved of the proposal brought forward by the Conisbro’ Parish Council, but that they proposed that only small proportion of the township of Cadeby should be included in the proposed urban district; and further that they had delayed making their final report and recommendations until exact boundary line has been settled, and the form of the draft order Idiscussed with the authority concerned.

The General Purposes Committee have passed resolution a resolution approving generally of the Committee of Enquiry, and will report further to the next meeting of the Council.
