Mourners :- Mrs. Cody ( widow ), Mr. Michael Managhan, Mr. Edward Managhan, Mr. T. Gilman, Miss Kate Cody ( daughter ), Mr. J. Gilman, Mr. W. Cross, Mr. J. Cross and Mr. Squire Pyne.

Bearers – Messrs. T. Higgins, E. Managhan, Michael Flynn, T. Doherty, T. Keary, M. Cody.

A large number of miners attended the funeral.

At the time of the 1911 Cenus Thomas Cody was listed as a Carter, born in Manchester. He lived with his wife Margaret, aged 29 and from Motherwell.

They had 4 children:

Mary Alice Cody, aged 10, born in Manchester
John Cody, aged 6, born in Manchester
Thomas Cody, aged 3, born in Manchester
Margaret Cody, aged 1, born in Middleton, Lancashire

Also living with them was Thomas’s mother, Mary Cody aged 79, a widowed,old aged pensioer, born in Longford in Ireland.
