Cadeby Distress Fund.

Diminishing Dependence.

At Mexborough on Friday, one of the half yearly meetings provided for by the Cadeby Disaster Trust was held.

Mr. W. H. Chambers (chairman of the Denaby Parish Council and Managing Director of the Denaby and Cadeby Colleries) presiding.

The meeting was held at the offices of Mrs. J. W. And A. T. Hattersley, solicitors to the trustees. It was mentioned by the treasurer to the trust (Mr F. N. B. Laidlaw) that of the original 61 windows with claims upon the fund. 21 had married and two had died, leaving 30 of this class of attendant.

There were originally 132 children claiming from the fund. And there were now 111. The number of posthumous birthss practically balances the few deaths that had occurred in this class, so that the decrease is substantially accounted for by children having passed the age of 14, which is a maximum age of which they might benefit. The weekly allowance is at the rate of five shillings for a widow and one shilling for each child under the age of 14.

The trustees accept it, with we get, the resignation of Canon Bateman, rector of whist still, formerly Vicar of Mexborough, attended on account of his having left the district
