Cadeby Main Treat – Tea at the Welfare
The 11th annual tea and social of Cadeby Main Colliery employees retirement scheme held at Denaby Main Welfare Institute on Friday was attended by 300 pensioners and wives, and 100 Widows of pensioners.
Chairman was Mr J.E.Hall, under manager, will deputise for Mr H Slater, aged – manager.
Speakers were Messrs C.W.Dickens, deputy Area Production manager, number 3 area; L Wormald, secretary (Yorks Area) of N.A.C.O.D.S.; and G Ashman, financial secretary, Yorkshire N.U.M.
Expenses were met out of interest and capital invested in the names of trustees of the retirement fund, supported by a penny a week deduction for the wages of all N.U.M.and N.A.C.O.D.S.members employed by the colliery, and supplemented by a grant from C.I.S.W.O.
Pensioners its obtaining the age of 65 this year received a £2 gift.
All pensioners will receive a 10 shillings gift on Friday (December 18)
