Mr. B. Hadfield presided at the Wesleyan Chapel on Christmas Day evening, when a cantata was given by the choir and friends, entitled “From Manger to Cross.” The full choir gave an efficient rendering of the chorale.

The principal soprano was Miss Sharkeshaft, of Mexboro’. The contralto solos were sung by Miss Bryce, of Conisboro’, and Mr. Rowson, of West ‘ Melton, was the tenor soloist. Mr. Hawley, of Conisboro’, took principal bass. He is blind but he gave excellent renderings of his solos.

Each artiste did well, and a very pleasant musical evening was spent Mr Vollans was a conductor and Mr J H Paskell, of West Melton, was the accompanist.
