Capture of Poachers Near Doncaster.

Charles Yates, a well-known poacher, of Denaby, and Valentine Poynton, a Doncaster labourer, were, on Saturday, sent to gaol by the Doncaster magistrates for two months each for night poaching, on land of Mr R. J. Streatfeild, J.P., of Rossington Hall, and they also had to find sureties, themselves £5 each, and two other sureties of like amount, to of for twelve months.

A keeper, named George Beaumont had seen the two men, along with four others, on land at Rossington. They had been poaching, and were just in the act off re-setting nets when the keep and others came upon the scene The men then decamped, and, doing so, flung stones at the keepers, some of which struck them. Yates and Poynton were captured. The keepers took possession of three nets, a quantity of sticks, and fifteen and a half couple of rabbits.
