Carbrook Cup.

Conisborough Town 6 Rotherwood Rovers  0

The first round for the Carbrook Challenge Cup was played at Conisborough between these teams on Saturday. The home captain won the toss, and the visitors kicked off.

The ball was at once taken to the home quarters, but was well got away by Kelly, and after some give-and-take play in mid-field, Tyas scored the first goal for Conisborough. This seemed to rouse the visitors, who played exceedingly well for a considerable time, until Tyas again lauded the much coveted goal.

At halftime the game stood—Conisborough 2, Rotherwood Rovers 0.

On resuming, the home team had the best of the play, and in about ten minutes Keys scored the third goal. Shortly afterwards Purday got possession and made a run, passing to Keys, who registered goal No. 4. The visitor now played up with a little more vigour, but the home team still kept the upper, hand, and Whitehead landed the leather once more under the bar, making the score 5-0. Purdy winding up with a magnificent shot, thus winning the best match of the season.

The home team played well to a man, but Kelly, Keys, and Purdy were the pick.
