Careless Denaby Miners
Several colliers employed at the Denaby Colliery were summoned at the West Riding Court, Doncaster, on Saturday, for offences in the mine.
Martin Connolly, Martin Hussey, and William Webb, of Denaby, were charged with breach of rules by drawing props from the coal face and leaving the back timber standing in.
Connolly and Webb were each fined 25s., and Hussey 20s. and costs.
James Ellis, of Denaby was fined 20s. and costs for taking matches into the mine.
