Castle Maintenance.
Work on the walls of Conisbrough Castle took another step forward last week when Ministry of Works employees erected a fresh scaffolding and a further section of the wall on the Low Road side of the castle.
When a “Times” reporter met the Castle warden on Wednesday he was told that the clearance of shrubs and bushes had just been completed, and that the castle slopes were now clear of vegetation there remained only a small amount of work in the moat.
