Cheap Gas at New Conisborough.

At Doncaster, on Saturday, Joseph and Mary Ellen Bradbury, New Conisbro’ were accused of stealing 1,760 feet of gas belonging to the Conisbro’ Gas Company ; Harry and Lily Owen were charged with stealing 280 feet; and Wm. and Mary Boyers 220 feet of gas.

The defendants live in Edlington Street, and obtain their supply of gas through slot meters. When the inspector, William Simpkins, examined the meters, he found that cardboard and metal discs had been used for the purpose of securing gas which was charged the rate of 1d. per 20ft.

The men were each fined 10s., including costs, and the female defendants were bound over for six months-
