Children’s Outing Season

The children’s outing season has reached its peak. On Tuesday 1000 juvenile and adult travelled by special train from Conisbrough to Cleethorpes under the auspices of the Denaby Main Institute.

Yesterday similar facilities were provided for 250 children and adults from the Castle Club and a similar number from the Denaby Main Ambulance Headquarters club. Tuesday, September 10, will see a completion of the arrangements made to date when the Northcliffe club takes approximately 1100 to Cleethorpes.

It is no easy task to secure special trains or coaches for children outings, and hundreds of youngsters in the Conisbrough and Denaby district are indebted to Mr L Thomas, the Conisbrough stationmaster, for the part he has played in making the rail accommodation possible.

He told those on Tuesday that when the Leger week outings of the Northcliffe club had taken place 5,000 children and adults would have gone on children’s outing from Conisbrough station this season.
