Children’s Playground – “Unclimbable” Fence.

October 1929

Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Friday 11 October 1929

“Unclimbable” Fence.

Steps are being taken to put down hooliganism at the children’s new playing ground at Conisborough Crags.

Conisborough Council has decided to erect an unclimbable fence to exclude people over 16 years of age.

The co-operation of the police for the enforcement of the law is being asked for.

Since the opening of the playground more trouble has been caused by men and women visiting the grounds and using the playing equipment than by others.

Over thirty accidents have necessitated first-aid treatment.
