Child’s Death in Malaya
Conisbrough Girl Fatally Burned
To friends of Mr and Mrs T.C.Taylor who emigrated to Malaya from Conisbrough a month ago comes the sad news this week of the death of Mr and Mrs Taylor’s only daughter, Eileen aged four years.
In a letter to his parents Mr and Mrs G Taylor, of 6 Rowena Road, Conisbrough, Mr Taylor states that Eileen was badly burned while playing with their 11 years old brother Geoffrey and a friend. She died in hospital at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
A month ago, Mr Taylor, living at 12, Chambers Avenue Conisbrough, went to Malaya with his wife and family to join Mr L.Moss, also a Conisbrough man, in an official position at a coal mine at Batu Arang.
Born at Denaby, Mr Taylor and worked at Denaby Main Colliery for many years where he had reached the position of district deputy. A pessimist telling his having a lot of trouble to the terrorist activities in Malaya. His wife was once evacuated to Kuala Lumpur but she returned shortly afterwards. His son Geoffrey, can no longer attend school as the boarding school which he attended has been closed due to the fighting.
There is to be a memorial service for Eileen at Lowfield Chapel, Denaby, on September 5.
