Christmas “Savings” Were Gone.

When Mrs. Florence Riley of Lime Grove, Conisbrough returned home after visiting relatives on Sunday morning she discovered that her house had been entered.

She was in the house, however, about half an hour before she realised that it had been entered, she had made a fire in the kitchen and fed her hens before going to the cellar for food.

She then discovered that her stock of tinned foods, mainly fruit, had been stolen.

She told a reporter that it was a nice little stock I had been saving up for Christmas,”

The thief had entered through a grill in the cellar and got away with about 30s. worth of tinned foods. The rest of the house had not been entered.
