“Chucked Out” Three Times
Patrick McDonald, of Denaby, was summoned for having been drunk and refusing to quit the Hereby Arms, Denaby, on July 5th.
William Riggs, waiter, said that on the evening of the day in question defendant came in a drunken condition to the Rereseby Arms no less than three times. On the first occasion he asked for something to drink and when refused went out fairly quietly. Half-an-hour afterwards he came again, and he was again refused, and ultimately got out of the house. An hour after he came again and was rather more difficult to remove, the landlord’s son having to lend a hand in the operation.
Cross-examined, he had not struck the defendant outside the house.
P.C. Midgley said he was outside the Reeseby Arms at 9.30 p.m. when defendant was turned out. He was drunk and complaining he could get nothing to drink then. He showed him where to get some ginger beer.
Fined 5s. and costs.
