Church Street Widening Scheme
Conisbrough Proposal
A proposal to widen Church Street, Conisbrough, at its junction with Morley Place, is to be placed before Conisbrough Urban Council’s Rate Estimate Committee at their next meeting.
Owner of the land in question, Mr. C. G. Ogilwy, has raised no objection to the proposed widening, subject to the Council being responsible for all expenses, including legal charges. The necessary plan has been drawn up.
At Monday’s Council meeting County Coun. B. Roberts said he thought the widening was a very necessary thing. In view of the very narrow street, it was a wonder there had not been more accidents. He appealed to tradespeople not to keep their vans standing for long in Church Street and other narrow places in Conisbrough.
