Coal Conciliation Board
A meeting of the Coal Conciliation Board was held on Wednesday, to consider an application from the owners for a reduction of 5 per cent. in wages.
It was decided to recommend a reduction of 2½ per cent. from the 1st August next, and a further reduction of 2½ per cent. on 1st September.
The proposal will be submitted to the various districts, and the miners’ executive will, it is understood, support it.
