Soldier – Cole, Fred – Died of Wounds in France

Private Fred Cole

Mr and Mrs Cole, Ladysmith Cottage, Low Road, have been informed officially that their son private Fred Cole (York and Lancaster) aged 22 years, has died of wounds received in France on July 3rd.

Private Cole joined the colours in January of this year. It is recently that he went to France, and he had only been there a fortnight when he received his mortal wound.

His relatives have received many messages of sympathy.

Private Cole previous to enlistment, was a devout member of the Denaby Salvation Army.
