Colliery Offence from Denaby Main

Jesse Croft, aged 14, of Denaby, was summoned for not having placed a backstay behind a train of corves in the Denaby Main Colliery, on the 12th and 13th inst.

Mr Hickmott said the defendant was cautioned on the 12 inst. when he was seen without a backstay attached. On the following day however, he repeated the offence. The colliery company felt bound to bring the lad before the court.

Defendant was ordered to pay 10 shillings including costs for each offence.
