Conanby Unemployed Social Club

The members of the Conisbrough Conanby unemployed social club, which was only formed a few weeks ago with headquarters in the Ivanhoe Park, are doing big things in their first year.

They have been granted permission to cultivate a small plot of land in front of their headquarters. and this has been laid out in attractive flowerbeds.

The members have also formed a football team and had joined the local league and cup competition.

To assist their funds they are running weekly whist drives on Friday nights in the welfare Pavilion which is lent to them by the trustees of The Conisbrough Miners Welfare Scheme.
