Concealed Absentee
Charged with concealing an Army absentee, Charles E. Cammack (31), cowman, Conisbrough, was at the Doncaster West Riding Court on Wednesday sent to prison for three months and his wife Doris (24) was bound over.
It was stated that the soldier, Mrs. Cammack’s brother, was reported absent from April 25th to May 24th. He was advised by the police to return to his regiment and said he would do so, but a month later was seen at the defendant’s home.
Defendants said they repeatedly told the soldier to go back. He used to go out in the day and return at night.
