Concert at Denaby Main.

April 1899

Sheffield Independent – Thursday 13 April 1899

Concert at Denaby Main.

On Tuesday evening, at the new schools Denaby Main, a concert was given by the Denaby Main Orchestral society, which consists of 35 members.

The special vocalists were Miss Gertie Soar, soprano and Mr William Foxton, tenor.

The conductor of the band was Mr M Soar, companies Mr William Henry Wilson, leader of the band Mr B Wilson.

There was a crowded audience, and the very selections from Beethoven, Rossini, super, wagoner and Matt were highly appreciated.

It was one of the best musical evenings ever enjoyed in the district, and this reflected as much credit on the society as on the soloists.
