Conisboro’ Cricket Club
Some Losses: Two Needs.
Improved Finance.

Doncaster League.

The prospects of the Conisboro’ club are as bright as ever in spite of the handicap of the big debit balance with which they started last year. It has now been practically rubbed off thanks to the energetic committee who have worked together to raise funds.

All the old players are available with the exception of L. Harvey and G. Soar, two of their best players, who have left the district and are now at Maltby. Conisbrough still have the services of H. Wilkinson., one of the best all-rounders in the district, F. Richardson, J. Hanby, A. Springthorpe and J. Cooper. The latter two last season did good work as bowlers. The club hope to have the services of Bateson the fast bowler who played two seasons ago. They would like to get hold of another bowler and, above all a wicket-keeper.

Games will be played on the old ground, and the fresh sides to be met are Ravenfield and Aidwarke -by the senior team, and Adwick, Burghwallis and Warmsworth by the junior team.

The captains are P. Kelly and W. Thompson, and the vice captains H. Wilkinson and H. Ellis. The club regret that they will not bare the services of W. Thompson, last season’s junior team captain, who is lying in Doncaster Infirmary with a fractured leg; they wish ‘him a speedy recovery
