Mexborough and Swinton Times December 28th 1907
Conisboro’ United Football Club.
On Saturday last a pleasing ceremony by way of a tea and presentation took place at the Alma Inn, the Headquarters of the Conisboro’ United Football Club.
The secretary having performed his duties to the satisfaction of its Members for over seven years, and has steered the club clear of debt and difficulties, a committee unanimously decided to reward his labours by way of a presentation in the shape of a purse of silver of a substantial character.
A tea was provided, to which a goodly number partook, and afterwards an evening concert was provided, which was much appreciated.
Messrs. J. Davies, C. W. Moody, and G. Smith contributed greatly to the pleasure of the audience present.
The host, Councillor A. Moody made the presentation. He congratulated the recipient upon his good work, and thanked all who had taken part in the presentation. A convivial and enjoyable evening was spent.
