A Conisborough Case Dismissed

Thomas Shutt, landlord of the Red Lion Inn, Conisborough, was charged with assaulting Ed. Baker, butcher, Braithwell, on the 2nd inst.

Complainant alleged that he went to the defendant’s house and got a drink. When the change was handed to him defendant assaulted him, but it appeared from the evidence of man named Ellis that complainant made a rude remark  to the servant girl, and the defendant ordered him out, and as he would not go he put him out.

The case was dismissed and costs allowed defendant, the complainant being told by the Chairman that next time be went to the court he bad better tell the whole truth.
