A Successful Gathering

Although the Conisborough Athletics Festival hardly vies in importance with several of the neighbouring festivals, there is little doubt that the show and sports form one of the pleasant interludes which are so highly valued to the people residing in the village.

The show which is a new feature, naturally excited some citizens, although as the movement is still in the beginning there was some doubt as to the class of entries which would be received. It was pleasing, therefore, when one arrived in the football field, Park Road, on Saturday morning, to see such a splendid turnout of horses and foals, and the judges task promised to be by no means a light one.
