50 Years Residence in one house

Mr and Mrs Street, Station Road, Conisborough have just celebrated their golden wedding.

They were married 50 years ago at the Rotherham Parish Church.

Of their eight children there are five living and 18 grandchildren.

Mr Street, who is a native of Conisborough is 72 and Mrs Street, who came from Parkgate, is 70 years of age.

Mr Street was in the employ of Messrs Lockwood, Blagden and Crawshaw for 35 years, and during the past 16 years he has worked at the Cadeby colliery stone quarries.

Mr and Mrs Charles Street and lived at the present address 50 years, were the first tenants after the house was built.

They witness Mr WH Chambers cut the first sod at the inauguration of the Cadeby colliery.

Both Mr and Mrs Street are in the enjoyment of excellent health.
