Conisborough Man pleaded Ignorance

William Davis, a miner of New Conisbrough, appeared in answer to a summons charging him with spitting on the Court house floor, Doncaster.

PC Woodward said that he was on duty in the Courthouse Doncaster at 11:30 a.m. on May 12 when he saw several spots on the floor, which showed that the defendant had been spitting.

Witness drew defendant’s attention to the paper prohibiting the practice.

Defendant then said he was sorry; he did not know that he was doing wrong.

He was ordered to pay the costs 9/-
