Death of Mrs Caleb Kilner

We regret to record the death of Mr Kilner, the second wife of Mr Caleb Kilner, J.P., of Ivanhoe lodge, which took place at 6 o’clock on Wednesday evening. She was the daughter of the late Alderman and Mrs J Bates, a former Mayor of Dewsbury, and has, for the most part of 30 years, been an invalid.

For the last few weeks she have been confined to her bed. She was of a very generous disposition, and was well-known for her kind actions.

She was a staunch supporter of Wesleyanism and all charitable movement.

The sympathy of the whole district goes out to Mr Kilner in the loss he has sustained.

The deceased, who leaves one daughter, Mrs Smethurst, was 63 years of age. The interment is fixed take place on Saturday, at 2 o’clock, at Conisborough Cemetery.
