Conisborough Miner Short of Coal
At Doncaster on Wednesday, William Davidson, miner, Conisborough was charged with having stolen coal from the premises of the Cadeby Main Colliery.
It would appear that the coal was missed during the late strike at Denaby.
The defence was that the coal was only sold by the ton, and he could not afford to pay for more than a hundredweight at a time.
Prisoner said he was a householder and had several children.
Ordered to pay 10 shillings including costs.
