Accident
Lily Croft, aged 3, of Athelstane Road, who was knocked down by a motor car near the Fat Works died in the Fullerton Hospital on Wednesday, a week after the accident.
An inquest will be held to-day.
Church Gift.
An anonymous donor has presented to the Parish Church a magnificent processional cross as a thank offering. This cross was first used last Thursday , on the occasion of the visit of the Bishop of Sheffield.
Street Betting
WiIIiam Baghaw, of Conisborough, was fined £2 at Doncaster on Saturday for street betting at Conisboro’.
P.c. Bowman said that two men handed Bagshaw slips in Brook Square on July 14th.
Witness picked up pieces of paper containing the names of three horses running that day.
Defendant pleaded not guilty.
Scalded.
Mr. T. Keeley was badly scalded by boiling water at his home in West Street yesterday morning.
He fell backwards into the fireplace in the kitchen and upset a kettle of boiling water over his back and shoulders.
Medical attention was required.
