Conisborough Notes – New Hotel – Examination Success – Outing – Cycling

New Hotel

Work commenced on the erection of the new hotel at the junction of Garden Lane and Old Road on Monday.

Examination Success

At the recent examination in glass technology at Sheffield University, Mr, Harold Matteson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Bateson, of Station Road, Conisborough, passed with honours and gained the Crowther prize.

At the London College Examination, Nancy Russell was successful in passing Elementary with high marks, gaining honours.

Outing.

The annual outing of the members and children of the Conisboro’ Castle W.M.C. took place on Saturday, when 206 children and 130 adults went to Cleethorpes.

Cycling.

The Conisborough Cycling Club went to Monsal Dale on Sunday. The club now has 116 members, of whom 107 are riding members.
