Swimming Certificates
Sixty out of the 70 school children were this season successful in obtaining the county swimming certificate.
One would like to see this number increased, but entrants are limited, for each school is only permitted to send 20 children per season for swimming instruction.
The swimming club gala is to be held on October 6th.
Public Conveniences
Lack of public conveniences is a long-standing grumble several timer the Council have tried to tackle the problem but financial considerations are holding it up. A scheme has now been drawn up by the surveyor, Mr. H. Thirlwall and the Council have approved it and intend to proceed.
Privy Middens
The conversion of privy middens to 120 houses in Ivanhoe Road. Athelstane Road, Gardens Lane aud Rowena Road is to be carried out.
