Conisborough School Board – Christmas Holidays and Certificates

Conisborough School Board

The monthly meeting was held in the board room last evening.

Dr. Hills was in the chair.

The other members present were Messrs Kilner, Wigfall. It was agreed that the schools should break up for a fortnights Christmas holiday on 22nd of December on the proposal of the chairman, Mr Ferdinand was allowed the use of the school room for a singing class. Cheques were signed this for Mr. Greaves (school accounts) £11, and Mr Holmes for salaries £39 17s 6d

Prizes for Drawing- the results for the drawing examination in connection with the board school are that Tom brooks and J.W. Stenson have gained certificates; John W. Whitworth a certificate and prize in freehand drawing and Fred Boulton and Ellen Cocker certificates for 2nd grade freehand drawing.
