Conisborough Shopbreakers

At Doncaster, on Saturday, nine Conisborough and Denaby pit hands, Charles H. Williams, Lawrence McDonald, William H. Howitt, James Beasley, Richard Jenkinson, John Riley, John W. Smith, Thomas Phillips, and George Harding, pleaded guilty to shopbreaking at Conisboro’ and stealing large quantities of nuts, oranges, apples, eggs, iced cakes, and bread, value £7, the property of Messrs. Hall and Son, and Mrs. Annie E. Robinson.

They all pleaded guilty, and were each fined 40s.
