This annual fixture took place on Monday in lovely weather. The picturesque surroundings of the ground also tempted a fair number of visitors.
Mexborough won the toss and elected to bat. A Rayner and H Chambers first batted, and, before the latter was injudiciously run out 16 was registered. H Beresford next followed, and scored 85 before being disposed off. W Carrbridge obtained 16.
Stumps were drawn at 5 o’clock, the score standing at 169, W Turner (11) and F Swallow (2) being not out.
