Carting Contractor Drowned In The River Don.
The body of Charles Guest (30). carting contractor, of Ferry Farm, Conisborough was recovered from the River Don yesterday.
He left home at 4.30 on Thursday afternoon to some business in Conisborough, and on his way home called at the Castle Inn, and left at 7.30. A little later he called at off-beerhouse, and got two bottles of stout, which he said were for his wife.
Nothing more was seen him until his was recovered from the river by Mr. T. R. Roth, saw-mill proprietor, of Burcroft.
It is supposed that owing to the fog he mistook his way, and fell into the water.
